Every now and then people come up with designs that try to defy what was the norm for hundreds--possibly thousands of years--now. Since nothing in this world is permanent, it is quite natural to assume that something new or non-conforming will come out in due time.
That is the case with pens. We were trained to write with these writing instruments when they were long and straight, forcing our hands to form in a sometimes-painful grip. Ergonomics will tell you that this is not the best design out there, but for, until now, this may do.
And so came pens that look like out of this world, like this writing instrument from Pacific Writing Instruments. At first glance, it looked like a scissor to me, with those two handles protruding at the end of the instrument. Looking at it closely, however, and reading the text beside it, it will show that it is indeed designed to be a pen, though it does not look like the conventional one.
What exactly are those pincer-like arms at the end of the writing instruments. It aims to ease the pressure on our hands by lessening the grip on the pen. I haven't really tried it, but it may be something worthwhile. Who knows, this might be the pen of the future, for another thousands of years to come! Anyway, I guess there is nothing wrong to try something out new. If you like, then go ahead and buy more. If you think it's not worth the money you paid for it, then you can always not buy it the next time around.
