Life, as we know it, is a complex web of people and entities. We are connected by invisible strings that are loose enough to let us move on our own, but strong enough (stronger than an adhesive putty, in fact) for us not to move without the influence of others. We might not always realize it, but our actions reverbrate through this strings and influence the actions--and fate--of other people.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YtrBEQZOzUM
And with this, I feel it is quite normal to feel somewhat guilty when complete people face terrible fates because of something that we did in the past. Whatever these other people end up with, we may not be directly involved. But there will always be these "What if...?" questions hanging over our heads.
It becomes all the more surprising when the people we influence are people that are completely alien to us, when these people are completely random and whose lives we cross at only one point. Today we see them, tomorrow we don't--and then we learn something tragic happens to them, and we are indirectly involved. What if I didn't do this? What if I didn't tell him? What if?
But what is done is done. Whether what happened is predestined is something we cannot be sure of. Whether something else could have happened if situations were not the same are things that we should leave at the back of our minds and let go. There's nothing to go back to. All that is left for us to do is work in the present, look at the future, and keep the strings reverbrating.
(The video, entitled "Tenth", shows us a moving tale about the things that I have just written about above.)
