As hard as I tried and as much as I wanted to keep my workspace on my desk free and clear of clutter and files, there simply is not enough square footage to get the job done. What are my alternatives, I thought? Well, there is the floor where I guess I could use a rolling file, but I tried that and the paperwork never seemed to go in that file because I was afraid I would procrastinate more and not seeing would be not doing.
There is the wall on two sides, since my desk sits in a corner...I know, I know, bad Feng Shui to have your desk in a corner facing away from the door. Can't be helped. Winter time brings less Feng Shui because I have to move my work area in to a bedroom instead of my sun porch where I can look out at nature's beauty all day.
Back to the wall...yes! That is the solution! I purchased some wall file holders that have three section each and lined them up all around the front and side of my desk.
The closest one to my right hand holds all of the paperwork that has to be handled immediately. The lesser the priority, the further around the corner to the left. At this rate, I may never get to the left wing.
Great alternative though, and they double for a place to hang some pictures of my family, horses and dogs. That is my substitution for being able to look outdoors all day.
