These days, fraught with scams and hackers and all sorts of people who are less than honest, you should be absolutely sure that not only you have taken the steps to keep your identity and banking information safe, but your online retailer has as well.At http://www.office1000.com, we take your security seriously. Not only have we been an established member of the BBB (Better Business Bureau) community, but we have taken steps beyond that to secure our systems and show you that we care about you.
Have you ever noticed when you are on the website for the bank that you use for internet banking (unfortunately not all banks use this feature yet...but should) or Paypal (who does), the name of the business is shown in a green bar?

Most people are not even aware of the value of seeing this green bar! The green bar containing the website's business name is a step beyond just securing the website connection. It demonstrates that a third party has verified the identity of the website owner.
Office1000 proudly displays this green bar on the url line when you are in our secure shopping cart. This signifies that we have made every effort to let you know that we are a valid and verifiable business, and that we care enough about your peace of mind to prove we are who we say we are.

If you click on the green bar, you will see information displayed such as:
- The website name (www.office1000.com)
- The owner company name (Office1000, Inc.)
- Who the business existence is verified by (COMODO CA Limited)
- A link to view the certificate verifying the website's identity
- Privacy and History information like whether you have visited the site before, whether the site stores cookies on your computer, and whether or not you have saved any passwords for the site
- Technical information such as letting you know the pages are encrypted to protect your information

So.... what does all this mean to you? It means that someone skilled at making a website that looks identical to your bank or online merchant's will be unable to do so, because the duplicate will fail to have the green bar.
We have probabably all received emails supposedly coming from your bank and even Paypal imposters. When you go to a secure website, look for the green bar. If it isn't there, you should think one of two things:
- This may not be the actual website for your bank or Paypal or merchant...but am imposter, or
- If you KNOW it is the correct website, you should be asking WHY the green verification bar isn't there. Don't they care enough to show you they are who they say they are?
So now you know what to look for. Remember to pay attention when doing any online transactions and if the green bar isn't in the address line, STOP!
It may be the easiest and most effective tool you have to protect yourself against phishing attacks or to verify legitimate merchants.
