One difficult thing that a hobbyist can encounter with scrapbooking is making sure that the layers of fabrics and papers are cut properly.
It's not even just cutting properly. One still has to ensure that they are cut in straight lines (or smooth curves) in line with the rest of the layers. It becomes an eyesore when the edges of the fabrics or the papers are cut in a crooked fashion.
It is for this reason that we cannot just use ordinary scissors, as they are bound to somewhat give crookedness to the edges of the cut parts. Cutters may possibly work, but it can also be a chore to ensure that the pieces are cut smoothly. They are not exactly comfortable to work with, too.
There are always rotary cutters for this kind of job. No, they are not pizza cutters. Pizza cutters are way sharper than the rotary cutters we have here. These rotary cutters serve a purpose, and that is to make it easier to anyone to cut smoothly through layers of fabric and paper. The contoured handle design also makes it more comfortable to work with.
Note that it isn't only for scrapbooking or some other craft like quilting. As long as one needs to cut through layers, the rotary cutter is the best tool for the job.
