It is hard to say which design aspect has the most impact on your performance or that of your employees if you have any.I know one thing for sure, and that is that no matter what, a dirty office does not encourage productivity.
You can have the sleekest office design in the world, worthy of magazine articles galore, but if you have cobwebs in the corner and dirt on the floor, your home office is not the place where your mind will work at the optimum level needed.
There is all kind of research out there to prove that surroundings make all the difference in your mood.
Do you find that when you dress up in a nice suit or dress that you actually FEEL more professional, smart, productive or any other mindset that is positive?
If you go to work in your jammies, do you spend more time focusing on moving your coffee cup around on your desk than actually getting tasks accomplished?
The purpose of this blog today is to simply point out that we do have much control over how our mind will function when it comes to being productive. If you present yourself with a clean, organized work space and dress professionally, even if it is jeans and a nice T-shirt if that is what applies to your work, you will be able ti function more productively.
Workplace design is important to the mindset of employees. If you work in a cramped, dark corner with no window, your mind may tend to be more uninspired and lazy. That same dark corner can be transformed into a place where our mind can roam free simply by cleaning the cobwebs from the corners, adding some nice lighting and introducing some green plants to the space.
To be inspired..you must put yourself into a place that inspires you.
