Office life can be very dull. There's no doubt about that. There are times when you just want the day to end. While I am not exactly in favor of using office time for leisurely pursuits, you can still try out activities that will not affect your productivity and yet keep you from boredom. One obvious thing to do is to listen to music using your iPod, unless of course otherwise banned by your office's administration. Hmm. The choices of songs are endless! People's tastes vary but do allow me to share one of my personal favorites. It's called New Slang by the group called The Shins (featured in the video). Doesn't it sound great?! I'm sure it is!
If listening to music in the office is not possible, maybe you can try out singing. Just make sure that your voice is good enough. You might end up annoying your coworkers if you sing like a parrot.
The thing is, if there is something you can enjoy while doing your usual work, it's related to music. I cannot think of ways how will it ever distract you from doing what you have to do. Just take into consideration your colleagues. They might not like to play music while doing their work (some people are just like that; they want it to be quiet), so you should always have a headphone just in case. Also remember to turn off the music when someone makes a call over the phone.
P.S. Listen to New Slang, It sounds so good to the ears. How can people possibly not like it played in the office. How?
