Students will always have a harder time hiding their valuables if they are living in dormitories with hundreds of other students whom they barely know.
Their valuables are more susceptible to theft especially when they are unfortunate to have a kleptomaniac on board. There has to be a way to hide the valuable stuff.
There are many ways to do so. For one, they could just open up a bank account with an ATM card to store their money. Why bring a lot of cash in the first place when it can be stored in a bank and withdrawn when the need arises. They could also just entrust the cash with someone they know and someone living near the dormitory. It could probably be a trusted uncle or friend.
But what if the valuables are not only cash? What if there are, say, important documents or jewelries? You cannot put these in a bank account. A safety deposit box is also unreasonably expensive for these students.
That's where personal safes come in. Students will find these safes handy and easy to hide away inside the dorm room. Most personal safes come with a security cable so there should be not much problems with the safes put in place.
The best advice I could give, though, is that students should not be allowed to bring much valuable goods in the first place. When there's nothing to steal, then nobody will steal.
