Ever wondered why sometimes work become so dull, boring, and lifeless? We all sometimes feel the same way, as if we want to just end the day so we can get back to home and sleep. Sometimes, we're just plainly not interested in the work, that we end up procrastinating. There are many factors that contribute to this seemingly lifeless habit. While I am not psychologist, I can give some contributors from a non-expert's point of view, which I am sure a lot of you share. - Work already becomes cyclical. Ever heard of the Economic Law of Diminishing Returns? If I am correct, this applies to work as well. As out work gets monotonous and repetitive, boredom prevails. Human beings did not exist to do the same things over and over again and yet enjoy it. Possible Solution: Get a new job in an industry that you have not entered in the past.
- Health problems are taking a toll on you. Even if you are the most enthusiastic person on earth, you can possible be alive 24/7 if you end up not sleeping for a few days. You health is something that you should be concerned of. Possible Solution: Get some rest. File a vacation leave if you have to, until you get enough energy to work on again.
- The environment is getting grayer by the minute. If it isn't your work itself that's getting dull. It must be the environment around you. You probably see the same people everyday who gives you the same nods, the same grunts, the same answers. You probably see the same towering buildings which you once admired but now despise. Possible solution: Add some color to your life (maybe using this multi-colored pen will do. lol). See new places. At night, after work, ask your colleagues to have some fun with you. Who knows, they probably like you.
