Living in harmony with your surroundings in your home office can be achieved through the balance of the five essential elements of Feng Shui to influence your state of mind. - Water: The most relaxing element. Found in fountains, taps, mirrors and the color black
- Fire: The most emotive element. portrayed by the color red. Found in decor and accessories made with natural materials and textiles
- Metal: Sign of intelligence. Represented by metallic items like brass or chrome and the color white
- Wood:Signifies creativity and imagination. Found in plants, paper, natural fibers and represented by the color green
- Earth: Signifies realism. Reprsented by stone and clay and earthy colors.
Your state of mind is important to organizing your home office so that you can have harmony. Try partitioning off your home work space from your living area perhaps using bookcases, privacy screens, or large plants. This will separate your business space form your personal space. Don't sit with your back to the door or window since it leaves you vulnerable to negative energy. Spiked or pointed plants are good at warding off negative energy. Decorate your desk and at the same time incorporate the five elements into your working space: - Water - Use a small mirror, black desk or desk organizer, or tabletop fountain
- Fire - Use a red accessory such as a wicker basket painted red or a red telephone
- Metal - Perhaps a chrome, brass or stainless steel lamp or desktop accessory
- Wood - A potted plant right on your desk will give you a pleasing element to look at
- Earth - Pick up a pretty rock on your next walk in the woods or trail and use a clear spray paint so it doesn't scratch your desk. This makes a nice paperweight. You could also pick paper trays or binders in earthy colors.
Organizing your desk isn't the only thing to consider. Think about the coordination of materials you are organizing WITH and give yourself [eace and tranquility at the same time with no extra effort. Tags: feng shui • organization • home office • red telephone • 0 Comments. - Permalink |
