It is not all-work in the office, naturally. In a traditional office setting, a worker gets to interact with his/her colleagues, as they will have to coordinate to push through with their tasks and obligations.Over time, perfectly like human beings, these people who always interact inside the office ends up being the best buddies or group of buddies, with them going out for dinner or videoke after a long day of hard work. (This is especially true when pay day comes and everybody is loaded with hot cash.) Personally, I would prefer to go bowling and singing in the videoke, but to some, maybe watching the last full show in a movie house is way better.
Relationships build up. Friendships build up. Quite expectedly, romantic affairs come up. It's no secret that a lot of people, probably some of you my readers, end up marrying one of your coworkers inside the office. All those hours of staying inside the office will have you to see the same face over and over again.
But is this just OK? I will answer that with a resounding "OF COURSE!" Human feelings cannot be suppressed, anyway. The problem only arises when the romantic relationship spills into the workplace. For example, a terrible fight transpired between the two lovers. This is normal, but having that indifference towards each other for a day will be fatal for the company especially if they belong to the same department.
Professionalism. This is the key to effective relationships inside the office setting. Work is work, and love is love. They are two different worlds that cannot be mixed when the bad times come. Do not let your feeling affect your productivity.
