You are getting ready to design your new work space. You have so many questions that need answered right down to choosing the best colors for the office walls and decor.

The main thing is to pick something that pleases YOU. You are the one that will be contained in the office you are designing... so shouldn't the main idea be to please yourself? If you typically choose clothing of a certain palette, and those colors look good on you, similarly, you would want to choose a color for your office that looks good on you. If you don't look your best in yellow, you certainly would not want to paint the walls yellow. Get the picture?

Here are a few tips and tricks to designing the perfect space for the utmost creativity and productivity:

• Splashes of color bring excitement and depth to a room! It used to be that every painted their office white, which is very boring and stale. Use a color on the walls that pleases you (or more than one) and use accessories or paint techniques that bring splashes of color to send boredom packing. The old how-to-decorate manuals can be sent directly to the office shredder. Do something new and exciting!
• Use little touches that tie pieces of the room together. Use chrome accents perhaps on the desk lamp, desk sorter, and a very classy chrome wastebasket. If you have a couple of guest chairs in your home office, use small pillows that match your lampshade. All these schemes will make your office inviting and cohesive.
• It is perfectly ok to use a different color on different walls, or even different colors on the same wall. If want to tie dye your walls, go for it, all that matters is if it is inspiring to you.
• Don't forget, you can incorporate your storage products into your home office color choices. There are lots of colorful office supplies such as post it notes, colored folders, and more as well as storage products, mobile files or binders that would inspire anyone to creativity. Use them to tie in your color scheme!
