If you are looking for a design idea that will fit with an empty space on your wall created by a tall ceiling, try painting a contrasting stripe of rich brown paint or other rich color that would give a warm look to the wall leaving the edges in an uneven or scalloped design.Set a bookcase right side up and then one upside down on top of it so the flat surfaces are together and the legs are sticking up on the top one. It will give you a nice tall feature in the middle of your warm brown stripe.
Add a wicker basket to the top of the set of bookcases and then fill the shelves with some books, cd's or dvd's, pictures or mementos.
