Many times we, and our customers as well, are just plain out of luck when a manufacturer decides to discontinue a popular product.Case in point this week is the 29110 Checkpoint pencil made by Sanford. It was a great product for teachers and anyone else who needed one pencil with blue at one end and red at the other.
Very useful for plans and drawings. Handy pencils for grading papers. I have no idea how manufacturers determine which products they discontinue making. Sometimes, it makes little sense to me.
The good news is that for all you lovers of the Checkpoint pencil, you DO have alternatives. Sanford also makes the Prismacolor Verithin red/blue pencil that also has the combination of colors in one pencil.
The Prismacolor line was created with the help of professional artists and designers to make it a favorite of professionals everywhere.
In December, there will be an item available on our website by the Charles Leonard Company, which will be similar in price to the 29110SAN checkpoint. That item number will be 65045LEO, so be sure to keep a lookout for that alternative as well!
