I hate doing laundry anymore. All of my kids are the same size now which means I have no idea which pair of skinny jeans belongs to which teenager. Whose underwear are these? I have no idea. They are old enough that they go shopping with their friends or with each other, hence there are many articles of clothing I have never before laid eyes upon until they come out of the dryer.
It is very frustrating to fold all these clothes and then not know where to take them to put them away. I tried leaving them outside the laundry room door onthe pool table, thinking they would put away their clothes if they wanted to play pool or ping pong.
Well that didn't work.
I decided I had to go to more extreme measures.
I purchased a box laundry markers, went to each child, gave them a marker and asked them to put an initial or something I could identify on each article of clothing so I would know what belonged to whom.
Of course we only did this with everything but socks. I purchased four different kinds of socks so I would know what belonged where. I threatened them that if they didn't mark their clothing with the laundry marker, the garment would immediately vanish into somewhere they would likely never set eyes upon it again.
Worked like a charm.
