Are you feeling blah when you walk into your workspace in your home office? I know I was feeling pretty blase' when it came to getting inspired in the morning.
I think the nicest thing we can do for ourselves is to surround our workspace with things that we love and that will inspire us to be creative.
Some of the things that make me happy are, I am pretty sure, designed more for kids than adults, but I am glad that manufacturers sometimes take our inner child into consideration when they design their products!
My favorite way to organize my documents is to use a colorful Baumgarten king klip on each stack of documents that go together. I use a different color for each priority, so I know what I need to address first each day.
I love colorful desk products such as matching folders and even colorful cute shapes of Post It notes. My favorite thing on my desk is a digital photo frame built in to my pencil cup. It rotates through my favorite pictures I have loaded on it.
Keep your little place in the world clean, including your keyboard and desk organizer. Sometimes they say that a messy desk is a sign of genius, but I find it is distracting and causes me to be unproductive.
Fresh flowers and even a candle (I guess if you are a woman) will liven up your space and make it enjoyable. Potted plants are for everyone and add healthy oxygen to your air.
It doesn't matter to anyone but you what you surround yourself with as you work, as long as YOU love it!
