My cable company really makes me angry. Every single night, and many times during the day, my internet connection bounces all over the place and if I am in a connection that requires a steady presence, I am kicked out and have to start all over.My many calls to them when the service is bouncing have netted no results. Therefore, I decided I would try and find ways to inconvenience them as they have me. Everyone likes to be recognized when they perform their job to the best of their ability.Aside from a paycheck and a good work ethic, what leads people to be their most productive? Don't you think a little extra incentive may entice your workers to put that little extra effort in? It is hard to say which design aspect has the most impact on your performance or that of your employees if you have any.I know one thing for sure, and that is that no matter what, a dirty office does not encourage productivity. I recently went to a farmers' market to pick up some sweet corn and found something I didn't expect.I got an education about the benefits of healthy eating on tabletop displays that were so well thought out and visually attractive, I actually read them! Where can I put all of my scrapbook supplies? That was a problem for me. I have hundreds of pictures, page backgrounds, stickers and all other kinds of scrapbook supplies.I tried just keeping everything organized on one end of my large dining room table since some of the kids are at college or on their own now and we don't use the other end. That didn't work out very well. Click on title or permalink to continue reading full post Tags: hanging files • mobile files • rolling file • scrapbook supplies • 0 Comments. - Permalink |

It is difficult to write about things like this. But I feel it only appropriate for me to acknowledge the loss of someone here at Office1000 that has touched and changed all of our lives for the better.Benjamin William Horner passed away on Sunday, August 30 in a car crash that took his 19 year old life while on his way to work. Ben was due to start his first day of his sophomore year at Clarion University the very next day and was so excited to get started. Ben has done much for us here, both as an employee and as a personal friend of our family for the last 8 years. Ben is credited with creating the Sheeple website graphics that made us all laugh. Every time I see one of his crazy drawings, it makes me ponder how someone so talented and young could be no more. This isn't a post about a normal office topic. I think its relevance today is to take the example that Ben gave and spread to the world what it means to be an exemplary person. He was a great employee. He was always excited to be able to perform any function, whether it was something fun like making new graphics (for which he was very talented) or doing more routine functions, such as writing new descriptions for products so our customers could make informed buying decisions. No matter what the task, Ben never complained and gave everything he had no matter what he did. It is a sad time for us all. May God bless and keep Ben and perhaps grant us mercy in our time of sadness. You will never be forgotten Ben.
