What Makes A Good Company?

By Blog Stories at 10/27/2008 14:49

Today's largest corporations did not come out of the blue like some magical entity. They started from somewhere, and like a plant that eventually grew into a giant-like tree, these companies started small and eventually expanded.

These companies had so many competitors when they were small (and even now that they are gigantic), but not everyone grew into the powerful corporations they are today. What made them grew and the others not? There has to be a difference somewhere, right?

Stories from the Cafeteria

By Blog Stories at 10/26/2008 12:30
If the workplace is the place for us to conduct business and do lots of work, the adjacent cafeteria is the place where we socialize with officemates, schoolmates, or random people in between cups of coffee. This is the place where we try to lessen our stress levels. It is for these purposes that the cafeteria was created.

In one of the cafeterias in our university, I learned more about my would-be greatest college friends. If memory serves me right, it all started with greetings in class. We started to get to know each other there, and proceeded to the cafeteria to continue chatting around the cafeteria tables afterwards. Up to this very day, even though we are not in the same class anymore, the cafeteria still serves as our meeting place.

Online Friends, Offline Friends

By Blog Stories at 10/26/2008 02:18
How many hours a week do we devote to socializing and enriching our relationships with our friends? In this modern world where everybody seems to be too busy, I am afraid that we do not spend much time.

When there are a lot of enticing activities that we can do, it seems that we sometimes tend to forget to greet friends and check on how they are. There are so much things to do that we begin to live in our own rooms in front of our computers (at least this is true in my case)--and in these computers, we start to build our own networks with sets of online "friends".

Don't Forget Your Zip Code!

By Blog Stories at 10/24/2008 15:19
Undoubtedly one of the most important numbers you should remember during your life is your place's Zip code. When you are dealing offline, sending letter or ordering things via mail, and when you are dealing online (ordering from websites such as Office 1000), people will need to know exactly you are from in a way that is easily distinguishable. Sadly, saying the name of the place you are in does not make any sense to some.

Double-Ended Markers

By Blog Stories at 10/23/2008 15:44
For someone who constantly uses art materials in his/her projects, a lot of time can be saved if tools are combined into one. Being specific has its benefits, but when it comes to tools, accomplishing only one task is never good, because it is an added waste to time, money, and effort.

It would be great if there is one tool that can do everything artistic that we want. I would call that a supertool. The supertool would be probably able to cut boards, paint them with all the colors imaginable, stick papers together, add glittery effects, and so on and so forth. But that doesn't sound to be possible, right? And even if it was possible, operating it sounds to be very complicated. Maybe combining two or three tools into one is enough--at least those tools that are somewhat related.

The First Circle

By Blog Stories at 10/20/2008 15:45
One of the things we tried to learn when we were kids was how to draw the basic shapes. Shapes are, after all, one of the fundamental elements of art. Our lines might have been a little crooked, but I am pretty sure that, even when we were that young, we could already come out with distinguishable forms.

Triangles were no problem. Squares were no problem. Other polygons were no problem. There was only one kind of shape that baffles even the kids of today. This was the circle.

Sticking Guns

By Blog Stories at 10/20/2008 15:33
In the past, we have featured a wide array of gun vaults that you can use to, well, store your precious guns in. For now, I won't be showing you any new gun vaults--not in the near future, at least. What I will show you is another type of gun that, in my opinion, is more important and more useful than whatever gun you normally put inside a vault.

What I am talking about are glue guns, an artist's bestfriend. We've seen them used in wood working, in scrapbooking, in repairing old furnitures and appliances, in creating artistic works with your children, and whatever else. They do take time to work but I think that if you need an adhesive that sticks well but not too well (to the point of forever sticking to your clothes when it accidentally gets there), a glue gun is what you need.

Office Bestfriend Award

By Blog Stories at 10/19/2008 23:58
Inside the office, I would say there are numerous nominees for the Best Bestfriend Award. Every tool has its own purpose and thus mean something to the function of your office. Now, whoever wins the award, I do not know since that would already depend on the judges. But allow me to present you some of the nominees.

First off, we have the stapler. Ten papers or twenty papers, allow the stapler to staple them together and prevent them from falling apart. Just be careful with those staple wires or they will hurt you!

Both Beautiful and Useful

By Calvin at 10/16/2008 19:39

When can Beautiful and Useful be put into the same sentence? When you are talking about these pens, I believe that feat can be done very easily. We're talking about about beautifully painted fountain pens that will easily stun all who see them.

Now imagine yourself at your next big meeting with a highly revered company. Don't you want to make an outstandin impression with these company executives? Of course you do, and these pens will really help you score some points.

Now I won't lie to you, these pens can cost a pretty penny, but they ARE highly worth it. I bought one with a Chinese Pheonix design about a month ago, and I have not regret that decision one bit. So what are you waiting for?

Turn badge holders into a great little brag book!

By Rachelle at 10/16/2008 10:49
Here is a bright little idea that will transform a product that had one use as a badge holder into a completely new item...a photo brag book!

Now after you read this, you will think... now why didn't I think of that? Anyone can create a little picture album that can be carried in your purse or even around your neck!
