Liquids on Board

By Blog Stories at 10/15/2008 15:45

One of the worst things that could happen to your package when it gets delivered to your home is to find out that its contents are all jumbled up, with some others completely destroyed. I was unfortunate to experience that twice, both under the same shipping firm. I am unsure if it was really the courier's fault during both instances. What I am sure of is that it made a mess in my package. It was a package full of detergent liquids and some food supplies. It was sent via sea, so it took a long time before it reached my place, and when it did, I found that the detergent bottles were forced open due to heavy weight. So you can already imagine what happened with all the food inside. They all smelled like some cleaning liquid.

A Desk for a Home Office

By Calvin at 10/14/2008 19:23

I was helping my parents to create a home office in the new addition they just had built onto their house. They pretty much had everything covered, except for a quality desk. Well, of course I had to recommend the Desk that I have at my house. Its shape and size fit quite nicely in my home office room, and I thought it would work perfectly in their new room as well.

This desk has everything I would ever need. The filing cabinet is a great addition, along with the durable construction. I can really see this desk lasting quite a long time.

Scrapbooking Tapes

By Blog Stories at 10/14/2008 00:01
Scrapbooking is a worthwhile activity, alright. But you have to consider a lot of things before proceeding with one scrapbook. That includes the materials that you will use.

First of all, you have to have the photos. What is a scrapbook without the photos it will contain, right? Then you have the other decorating materials. You can have it your way when it comes to this part, since it is all about expression and creativity. It also depends on the theme of your scrapbook. There are a lot of scrapbooking websites in the Web that you can check out for ideas.

Who's the Handyman?

By Blog Stories at 10/13/2008 23:21
In times of economic crisis, you cannot always afford to hire the services of repairmen whenever something needs a little repair inside your home. You have to do what you can already do on your own, or at least with the help of a friend or a family member. In short, you have to know how to be a handyman. But how do you learn to be one?

There are many ways. One of them is to enroll yourself in a vocational course in your local college. This might cost you quite some money, but think of it as an investment since you will be saving a lot of money by avoiding the repairman.

Remember your child's first day of school with things they bring home

By Rachelle at 10/13/2008 11:40
Be sure to remember forever your child's first day of school. The kindergarten child's first day is filled with many memories and they usually even bring something home with them that can be used in your scrapbook.

Use something from your child's first day such as a name tag, or even ruler paper as a background. You can use almost anything they bring home to share with you to make the page stand out in your mind forever.

Making Machinimas

By Blog Stories at 10/13/2008 11:29
Anybody who has experience in film-making knows that creating visual masterpieces is no easy feat. Creating live action films alone is enough to make anyone lose a dozen pounds and thousands, if not millions, of dollars. Many things can come up during a production of a film. Your actors may not come up (that would be a great pain, I know); you have to worry about a lot of things such as costumes, lightings, make-up, and many more (imagine what your appointment book will look like!); and like what was said above, it can cost you quite a fortune.

Animated films are no better. They require computing machines whose powers may not be seen in an everyday computer. It also takes a lot of time, and it takes a lot of skilled animators to finish one short.

The Bulletin Board

By Blog Stories at 10/10/2008 23:19
Everytime I go to another person's place, what do I usually see in the kitchen? The refrigerator. And what do I usually see in front of the fridge? Magnets! Magnets in all colors and sizes! Magnets holding various pieces of paper! Since the fridge is one of those places that people visit inside the house, it's just natural for people to post their notices and their messages there. The refrigerator is any home's bulletin board--well, sort of.

One Hot Day When Power Strips Were Absent

By Blog Stories at 10/08/2008 23:05
Just today my friends and I went to this printing shop near the university to print out some PVC IDs for our organization. It so happened that the shop required us to submit the JPGs in ready-to-print format if we want the IDs to be printed tomorrow. We have to have the IDs printed immediately because we will distribute them later, so we worked on every single ID on the spot--manually because we didn't anticipate this. We didn't have an ID processor software installed.

To make the process faster, we distributed the work among ourselves so that one would edit the image files and one would dictate the data needed, so we set up an ad hoc network for this. All seemed quite well except for one thing. My friend's laptop was already low in battery, prompting him to plug in the store.

Saving You Time and Space

By Calvin at 10/08/2008 21:58

My brother has been having trouble at work, trying to get everything on his work desk organized and ready to use. Too bad he just couldn't do anything about it with his organizational skills. So I suggested this Desktop Organizer just to help him out.

Seems his whole work habit has changed just from this one little thing. He started gathering more items to help him stay organized all thanks to this little accessory. I have to say that this could really help you if you need some organization for your work materials.

Peeling Paint

By Blog Stories at 10/06/2008 23:59
Part of the publicity of big events are the creation of posters and flyers. Aside from word-of-mouth marketing, I believe this is one of the oldest ways of promoting something. However, these kinds of practices have their limitations.

Let's say that it is this way for posters. Ethical attitude will tell you that you should not go ahead and stick posters in places that you do not own, unless you got the permission of the owner or you it was allotted by the government as a venue for posting promotional materials. I guess there's no problem with that.
