When you rarely attend social gatherings like parties, like I do, it is natural for you to feel surprised upon the sudden receipt of an invitation, especially if it comes from someone you knew a long time ago and with whom you have had no contact with for many, many years. On the good side, it's touching to find out that someone remembered you after many, many years of no communication. At least you are not forgotten despite the long gap. On the pressuring side, you will be immediately compelled by the fact that it will be some sort of reunion--and you are wondering how will you compare to that person after all these years. In the university where I am at, I think it has already become a trend to wear IDs around the necks. Due to the stricter security measures imposed, everyone, faculty member or student, will have to wear their respective IDs in order to enter a building. There are colleges wherein this is just fine, but that particular one where I am right now is so strict when it comes to these trivial things. The funny thing is not the idea of always bringing IDs. When I was in high school, wearing your ID around the neck is the norm, so it didn't make much of a difference to me. What is funny is that most of the students actually wear a lanyard of the same design! We were and are always subject to expectations coming from family, peers, and our bosses. Admit it or not, people would always want you to replicate or even surpass your previous performances, especially if you are known to be a good worker. I believe it all starts in school, when the concept of honor students is introduced. Students who always get an A from their teachers are then increasingly worrying about maintaining such a standing in class. When everybody in class does excellently, there is this expectation that you will do even better. I need an adhseive tape that can be easily procured. I do not need super strong tapes if I have to go to Hungary just to get it. I need an adhesive tape that is affordable. I have no use for a tape that is so strong but costs me a hundred dollars. I need an adhesive tape that is reasonably strong. I do not need an adhesive tape, however cheap and available it may be, if it even weaker than an stick-on note. But despite the strength, I need an adhesive tape that can be easily broken with my fingers. Scissors are not always available. It would be always better to have my fingers cut the adhesive tape myself. I am not sure about you, but my kids ALWAYS decide to tell me they have a project due at the last minute. Like at nine o'clock the day before a project is due, they say 'mom, I need to go to the store and get stuff to make a poster'. By that time, everything is closed. So, being the crafty mom that I am, I gather up home office supplies for them to make their projects. I first of all always keep a couple of spare pieces of posterboard around. I also have a variety of highlighters and sharpies. One great thing that I found works well is colored paper that I can put in the printer so they can type up text for posters and put them on the poster board to give it some color. Kids are so last minute, so we have to do all we can to keep them and ourselves organized! Tags: kids crafts • school projects • posterboard • sharpies • 0 Comments. - Permalink |

My company frequently has me write procedures manuals to give new employees at the training stage. If anyone out there has done this before, you know how tedious it can be. You have to explain everything because you cannot assume they know ANYTHING! So here are some supplies that I found useful in my experience.Binders of all sizes will make the process easier and keeps everything organized. I find it useful to have a couple different binders for different categories of tasks. Sheet protectors are great too, because you can not only protect the pages, but you can make extra copies and put them behind the main page, so a new employee can take one and make there own notes and keep a single page if they need to. A variety of highlighters are always good to to illustrate key points. Hopefully this list and these ideas will be helpful to others who have ever had to do this task. Alright, so a friend of yours is having their big day and you want to suprise them with a decorated cubicle to at least brighten their day a little. So what do you do? Besides the easy part of balloons, you could easily hang streamers from the cubicle walls. You could use a Magazine Display Clip for more than just hanging booklets and magazines. Easily hang up decorative streamers and posters with these clips that attach right ot the top of the cubicle. I could go on and on about ideas, but I don't have the time. The Magazine Display Clips really aren't limited to birthday decoration ideas either. Ever think of hanging Christmas lights in your cubicle for some festive cheer? Yes, Christmas is closer than you think. The point is, these clips have more uses than just displaying magazines! When I am reading an important document and need to highlight a specific part or idea, I like to have a highlighter on hand. But I like to have a pen on hand as well to write in the margins or add little notes. It is not always so convenient to have to switch between a highlighter and a pen. I think it breaks concentration and just wastes time.I found a great highlighter and pen in one that I use for everything. The combo is so convenient and I don't waste so much time. So if you are having a similar issue, I would suggest these pens! They are a great addition to anyone's office supply arsenal. I think that a presentable waiting area is very important to most places of business. I think this holds especially true in doctors offices or places where health is concerned. If you enter a dirty, run down building with an uninviting waiting room, odds are you are not going to feel comfortable. I think some things that are important to have are things of visual interest. Like a painting or an aquarium. Things that people can look at to maybe take their minds of a doctors visit or make them relax before an important interview or meeting. Comfortable chairs are important to. As the purpose of a waiting room is for people to wait, it is important that they do not mind waiting there. If I am uncomfortable, I am sure going to be irritable and impatient and those are not welcome feelings to have. So I think it is important for people to take note of the first thing people see when they enter an office, the waiting room.
