I found this neat sticky picture paper to use for my scrapbooks. It works out really well, because I can just stick them to the pages and I don't have to worry about buying extra adhesives or the glue getting all over everything.I think they would be great for lots of uses like grdatuation announcements, invitations for weddings, birthdays or anything you can think of. I can stick them to the dashboard of my car, my school locker, my walls and ceiling, anywhere. I think they are compatible with most inkjet printers so they are for everyone! This is highly recommended as my tip for scrapbookers. Tags: scrapbooking • picture paper • 0 Comments. - Permalink |

If you pull open that top, right drawer on your desk, you just might find a fistful of push pins, and not just because you have a well stocked desk, but rather because you don't have the high-quality sort of cork board sufficient to handle your surplus. Push pins or no, and an ample supply or no, I need to suggest that you don't have enough of them. It's not just because you don't, which is true, but because there are fully eight great reasons why you could use some more. - Sometimes you don't have enough, but let's face the facts, you can never have too many.
- A quality push pin can speak volumes for your character and personality, but those of poor quality will always send a message, and it's not one you wish to have.
- Sometimes you need a splash of color, sometimes you need clear ones, and other times still you need the faux-chromium variety, and you just can't have too many of any of them.
- In the case of workplace boredom, you can always affix them to double-sided tape and put them on the chairs of coworkers for exceptional fun.
- In cases of extreme frustration, push pins can be used in lieu of the traditional "pistol" when it comes to the "going" of "postal". Also, since you'll fail either way, this is a great way to avoid a death sentence, even in Florida. Maybe not Texas though, those guys kill everybody.
- In the event you're afraid of falling down, you can place a handful or so in your front pockets. Think of the emotional security you'll enjoy knowing that, if you do indeed fall down, you'll suffer a good half-dozen or so tiny pricks in your pants. That's five more than usual!
- Even though they don't do a darn thing for affixing fat stacks of documents together, nothing works as well when it comes to sticking a hundred-odd pages to a cork board. It's odd, I know, but when your manager asks where your big report is, little can be more rewarding than making him or her grab it themselves only to watch the bulk of it fall to the floor. Try not to laugh.
- Aside from staples, there's nothing that will work quite as well in your inter-office voodoo doll, except for maybe a pack of matches.
Whether you're just looking to increase your IQ, secure that big raise, or just find a way to spite that irritating Ted from accounting, it's easy to see how push pins can make your life better, easier and far more entertaining all around. Tags: humor • push pins • 0 Comments. - Permalink |

I have just discovered the love of scrapbooking. I, of course, like everyone else have heard and seen about it, but I didn't experience the personal joy it can bring until recently when I sat down with my daughters to put some pictures in albums. We found a treausre of pictures in a box in the closet. One of those "I'll get around to putting those in albums soon" kind of things... We decided togteher that we would have a contest to see who could make the greatest scrapbook page. I set about going to different websites to learn different layouts and designs, and how to make some really neat embellishments. There were so many ideas that I never would have thought of on my own. I read interviews, looked at stickers, learned how to make my own vellum pockets, and so many more neat ideas. We made a trip to the local supply store to see what we could find and I ordered a few things online as well. For the most part, we ordered some neat background paper, a few different paper edgers, and some adhesive to mount the pictures with. We decided to make as much of the embellishment as we could by hand without spending a bunch of money. There were a few sticker sets I had to have like the cheerleading uniform set and a set to use on a page for my daughter's graduation announcement. After we all completed our pages, we couldn't decide which one was better, so we made us all winners. They were some really beautiful pages and we didn't really invest much money into making them. The supplies we did buy could be used over and over, so they were not a waste of money. We had such a good time, that we decided we would get together once a month and design a page each. Each daughter is making an album for their own theme using the pictures of them or ones that were special to them and I made one with a central family theme. That way, when the kids are grown and have their own families, they will have a keepsake that they can take with them. It is a wonderful way of sorting out family photos that can be passed down for generations. Tags: scrapbooking • familly heirlooms • interview • 0 Comments. - Permalink |

Would you believe I used to hand cut all the edges on my borders and some pictures with plain old scissors! I have got to be the world's biggest dummy! I had finished several scrapbook pages, which turned out beautifully, but boy the extra unnecessary work I put in made me really mad when I found these scissors that cut designs on the edges for you.Of course, once I found them I had to have them so I bought several. They are unbelievable! Now I can use them on all kinds of stuff to add decorative edges in my scrapbooking albums. There are lots of designs to choose from, of course I had to buy them all (dang it): - Sunflower
- Arabian
- Heartstrings
- Lightning
- Corkscrew
- Pinking
- Scallop
- Wave
- Ripple
- Mini Pinking
- Victorian
- Stamp
- Colonial
- Clouds
- Seagull
- Majestic
- Deckle
Of course there are the long and wide edger versions also, which can make it easier, i.e., quicker. I was so amazed at the time I had already saved that I was happy with the regular size ones. Scrapbook borders and scrapbook tags with pretty edges make your pages stand out so much more than just using the straight edges all the time. There are so many wonderful ways to archive the pictures of your children doing their favorite things. My oldest daughter is a cheerleader, so we decided to work on a scrapbook together. There are awesome stickers and embellishments out there to use. I generally like to use or make my own but this little set of cheerleading stickers that has a little uniform and sneakers with pom poms are too adorable not to use. It is so much fun to do this with your children and it gives you some really good memories to look through when you are old and your children are grown. I find the best way for me to create my pages is using my own colorful paper backgrounds and sliding them into sheet protectors. You can use lots of different themes for the cheerleading pages: - football field
- baseball field
- basketball court
- gymnasium for wrestling matches
- hockey rink
Since they cheer for so many sports, you can start with a background for that particular sport. You can cut out and decorate your own megaphones, mats, pennants, and so on. HAVE FUN! Tags: scrapbook ideas • cheerleading • 0 Comments. - Permalink |

Me too. I read all these clever articles about organizing your office space, organizing your home, organizing your garage, organizing your life, and I wonder if I am truly the only one without an organizational bone in my body.My office is a complete mess. I have file folders stacked everywhere. Although they are colorful and pretty, they are not at all the organizing factors that I would like for them to be. Desk disorganization is the least of my worries. I have stuff all over the floor, cables running everywhere and the worst part is, I don't know where to begin. There are neat articles that tell you to completely clean out the space to get started, but I can't take it all out. I have servers that run constantly that can't be moved without disrupting the flow of internet connections, which means those errant cables are going to STAY jumbled and out of control. I lost my sentry safe combination, which means I can't get to some of my important records. And yes, I am aware that you can get a new combination from Sentry. I promosie I will do that next (haha). I have the best plans every day to come in and tackle the pile in my basket, but I never seem to make it there. There is always one more thing that needs done first before I can do that. I can't seem to throw anything away. I am not talking about empty envelopes or whatever, I am not THAT bad, just magazines, catalogs, stuff, stuff and more stuff. There is not one square inch of unmessiness. I need some help. My life is too stressful to clean my office. I need some changes. I had to fire an office employee for stealing office supplies. I mean how boring is that? If I were going to steal something, I doubt I would put my career on the line for some A&W Products, Listo Pencils, push pins and a Royal cash register! What is the world coming to? How do people think you can clean your office up if they are walking out the door with your supplies, or maybe that is the plan. They distract me by making fun of my office and then take all the office supplies home. Most bosses wouldn't miss some paper clips, but a CASH REGISTER!? I am getting sick from the stale coffee I drink every day. I don't even have time to play my favorite Soduko game. All I do is sit here behind my messy desk, try to trudge forward one pile of paperwork at a time, and drink more stale coffee. If I could figure out a way to become rich or famous, I would do that instead. Of course, that may be kind of boring too, since then, people would follow me around everywhere I go and see the messiness that is my life. That would be pretty embarassing. I am really hoping that all of those things I have read are true about a messy desk meaning you have a creative mind. If that is so, I have a VERY creative mind. I would love it if someone could give me an idea how to follow all of these wonderful organizing tips in light of my packratiness and lack of time. Maybe Someone would just like to come in here with a portable tornado or something. Maybe even just bring some fresh coffee. Tags: organization • humor • messy desk • 0 Comments. - Permalink |

Quilling is the technique of creating designs by rolling thin strips of paper into swirls and flourishes that can be combined to form ornate designs. You will be taking strips of paper and rolling, gluing, and shaping them to create patterns and designs. What better use for that old colored paper that you only have a few sheets of which isn't enough for an entire office project? Quilling can be used to decorate boxes, cards, frames, mirrors, scrapbook pages, etc. People have seen quilling used to decorate framed wedding invitations and baby announcements. For your project you will need some basic things. You will need paper and glue. You can cut your own paper or buy your paper pre-cut. Cutting your own will save you money. Quilling papers come in many colors and styles in addition to widths. The patterns that you use will generally indicate the width and length of the paper to use. To glue your shapes you will need a white, liquid glue that dries clear. Some tools you can use when quilling are: - Slotted tool: named because of the tiny slit (or slot) at the top that holds the paper as you turn it to create your shapes
- Needle tool: generally has a metal or wooden handle with a long, thin piece of metal extending from the top that looks like a needle
- Your hands: you can always use your hands for a technique called finger rolling
- Straight pins, hat pins, and those "T" pins (office supply products)
Some other tools that you will find helpful (but not required) and are probably around your house are: - wax paper
- clear sheet protectors, to protect your work surface when gluing pieces together
- cardboard
- a book, styrofoam, or corkboard for a firm portable work surface
- scissors for cutting shapes or paper strips
- a small plate, bottle cap, or something that you can use to put a little bit of glue on so that your glue bottle doesn’t dry out
- a ruler – this will help you with keeping your lines straight or measuring your shapes to ensure they are the same size
- A damp cloth or sponge (even baby wipes) help you keep your fingers from getting glued together
- Tweezers are helpful to help you pick up your pieces and place them in a specific location
There are plenty of places to find free quilling templates and ideas. Try your hand at it and see how creative you can be while you use up that colored paper sitting there collecting dust bunnies. Tags: quilling • projects • 0 Comments. - Permalink |

I love making scrapbooks. I recently came across a large box of photos of my children and pets.Instead of putting them in boring old photo albums, I decided to do some research and learn how to create my own scrapbook pages. There are some really neat tips and ideas that you can find. Making your own personalized scrapbooks mean so much more than just sticking them in an album. You can take a pretty piece of paper and add photos with borders, or vellum pockets for mementos or cards. You can use pretty ribbon and many companies produce stickers and 3D embellishments that are adorable. They cover every sport and topic from cheerleading to vacation themes. After your page is created, you simply put the whole thing in a page protector and put it in the book. How easy is that? Doing these wityh your kids is even better, because then you can look at the finished pages and know that you created them together with your own hands. It is a special way to spend quality time with your children and make something beautiful. Tags: scrapbook ideas • photos • 0 Comments. - Permalink |

Sometimes, the wonderful ideas we come up with don't fit in a traditional box. Same thing goes for scrapbooking. There are a few things you can do to get around some hard to fit items. For example, you have the neatest travel brochures from your vacation...how do you get them in the scrapbook without hiding part of them. You may have a beautiful graduation announcement or invitations that need a special way to attach them. You can make your own vellum pockets to custom fit your souvenirs. You can also use CD holders or sheet protectors. The latter are just clear plastic or poly, and you can add color and embellishments to make them match your scrapbook pages. There are actually page protectors that feature built in panels on both the right and left edge that close to meet in the center, like a shutter and also ones that just have a fold over on one side. These would be handy to use to perhaps put a travel brochure in. There are lots of really neat patterns and ideas to use for these special holders. All you need is a little imagination after you see the idea and you can vary it however you like to fit your needs. Tags: scrapbook ideas • pockets • 0 Comments. - Permalink |
