Possibly one of the most annoying traits a coworker may ever have, checking your table without permission is one of the typical traits of the nosy colleague. It amazes me up to now why some people just can't help themselves from peeking at others' work and personal belongings. It doesn't even start inside the office, in the first place. Even in university, there will always be nosy people who like to check personal belongings, as if you are hiding some weapons of mass destruction or anything like that. A lot of them think you guys are close enough that they already gained the right to do their nasty deeds. Good thing I am not experiencing much of that now. Some offices can be really just more sensitive to particles than the others. While some offices do not care much if dust is already accumulating on the floors, others, or what they call electronic offices, have to make sure that no large particles will be able to enter the sensitive office equipment. Important office equipment like computers should be handled with care and cleaned with care. Doing otherwise would lead to hundreds of dollars lost on computer repair. For this same reason, you or your company should purchase a cleaner, preferably a vacuum cleaner. Ordinary vacuum cleaners won't satisfy, though. What you and your electronic office needs is a cleaner that handles with care and cleans with care. I have seen such a vacuum cleaner in the form of the Pro Series Toner Vac with Micro Cleaning Tools from Metro Data Vac. The type of computers you use in the office naturally depend on the kind of service your company is offering to people. If you are working in some accounting firm, I guess having a regular desktop and a couple of laptops would already be OK. For computation-intensive work or work that requires a database, probably having a mainframe aboard is the most conceivable, partnered with a couple of desktops to serve as workstations for the employees. When your office is filled with desktop computers, chances are a lot of tabletop space is used for computer equipment: CPUs, printers, scanners, etc. While the space is not really 'wasted' as they still serve some purpose, it could have been put to better use if the other computer stuff weren't there. The summer fever is on and many people are already hitting the beaches for a to warm their selves up, but don't you think that beaches are already becoming boring? Year after year, summer after summer, people go to the same body of water to cool their selves up. Personally, I am getting tired. The view's a delight, sure, but I would like to see things other than sand, sea, and stones. I want to visit something new to my eyes, something that will really make my summer a memorable one. Every single year before this one, I had to go to the beach, or some pool and immerse myself in water. Gaaah. I do not even know how to swim. There are times when it is really difficult to find a decent work, no thanks to the fierce competition you have to handle with people. Interviews can be really nasty, especially if you have to make the interview together with your co-applicants. I believe that more than the shame of making a mistake during the interview, what's more irritating is that you will have to listen to how your co-applicants eloquently and intelligently answer the questions thrown at them. Why do these smart people have to compete with you for that post? Why?Then, probably because of a miracle, you were the one chosen for the job. Woohoo! You throw a party with your friends, hoping that you will find happiness doing this job. After all, this is the job you have wanted so badly that you endured the endless smart talks coming from your competitors. Office life can be very dull. There's no doubt about that. There are times when you just want the day to end. While I am not exactly in favor of using office time for leisurely pursuits, you can still try out activities that will not affect your productivity and yet keep you from boredom.Click on title or permalink to continue reading full post Tags: phones • work environment • office music • 0 Comments. - Permalink |
