Level Copy Holder

By Blog Stories at 07/28/2008 21:44

Encoding long manuscripts can be a really daunting task, especially for those who are not touch typists. Of course, over time, we will be able to master the keyboard, but that will include painful weeks ahead for your neck. I should know, I passed through the same ordeal. To reduce the pain a little bit, we buy copy writers--but do they really reduce the pain? Or are we just wasting money?

Part of the reason why we buy these copy holders is to make sure that we don't have to make our heads go up and down from the computer monitor. Quite unfortunately, these same copy holders just make you the same thing and serve no real purpose aside from being a dignified clip board.

Ding!

By Blog Stories at 07/28/2008 15:05
You regularly see them on top of librarians' desktops and hotel lobbies. You often hear them ring once a certain degree of noise is within the library of if a hotel customer needs his/her baggage lifted to his/her room. What is it? It's a desktop call bell!

Oh yes, I never fail to hear this little bell ring once I am in the library. It just shows how students fail to keep quiet inside. Hehe. No wonder that in our library, a conference room was built to accommodate students who just cannot keep their mouth shut while inside the library. It was also created so that students who have genuine academic purposes can pursue a healthy discussion without bothering reading students.

Music in the Office (July 22, 2008)

By Blog Stories at 07/22/2008 11:49
Time to listen another piece of music here in the Office! This time around, it is not about The Shins or any rock band. What's most interesting about this version of this particular piece is that the original is waaaaay different from the version showed here. This adaptation, in my opinion, is way better than the original. I am talking about the song "Why Can't We Be Friends?" as performed by the children cast of the 2007 movie The Bridge to Terabithia.

On Mechanical Pencils and Pens (Again)

By Blog Stories at 07/21/2008 14:50
Like what was mentioned yesterday, ordinary pencils differ from their mechanical counterparts by a wide margin. The yellow pencils are there mostly for kids' use, since these pencils are much much cheaper. Kids sometimes tend to lose their school stuff, so why bother giving them very pricey?

For the more affluent and mature, however, mechanical pencils are much better. Aside from the absence of the need for sharpening, mechanical pencils look more formal, more expensive--fit for an office professional like you. Aside from that, wooden pencils do not come in latex covered bodies that will ensure the good grip (the grip in wooden pencils is simply horrifying!).

Ordinary Pencils Vs. Mechanical Pencils

By Blog Stories at 07/20/2008 15:46
Way back when I was in daycare and eventually in first grade, I remember myself only using a pencil. We all did when we were so young. It's usually yellow. I do not know why manufacturers always like their pencils to be colored yellow. Maybe it's jolly looking?

Anyway, back then, the pencil comes with the regular sharpeners in which you have to turn around your wooden pencil. That was the norm, and it still is today. At least that was the norm when you were so seven or eight. It was a surprise, I can recall, when I met the mechanical pencil. I was confused. Is it really a pencil? If yes, then why is it not made out of wood? What difference does it make, anyway, to have it in that form?

Romance in the Office

By Blog Stories at 07/19/2008 16:22
It is not all-work in the office, naturally. In a traditional office setting, a worker gets to interact with his/her colleagues, as they will have to coordinate to push through with their tasks and obligations.

Over time, perfectly like human beings, these people who always interact inside the office ends up being the best buddies or group of buddies, with them going out for dinner or videoke after a long day of hard work. (This is especially true when pay day comes and everybody is loaded with hot cash.) Personally, I would prefer to go bowling and singing in the videoke, but to some, maybe watching the last full show in a movie house is way better.
