My Mechanical Pencil

By Blog Stories at 04/10/2009 15:05

I love my mechanical pencil.

Of all the writing materials inside my bag, the mechanical pencil is, without a doubt, the dearest to me. Not that I use it the most. I use ballpens way more often than that. It does not even have a sentimental value added to it. I cannot be sure. I just love it.

It might be the pleasure of hearing the clicking sounds everytime I push the lead out. In the silence of the night, the clicking sounds of the mechanical pencil remains to be my only companion.

It might be the thrill, if you can call it that, of finding out if there's still any of the lead inside. Can you still write with it on the next push, or should you prepare your extra leads to fill it up? If you have nothing else to do but concentrate on the little things, this kind of "thrill" is more than welcome.

Or it might just be the grip. My mechanical makes the best match with my hand. I do not have to grip to tightly just to hold it, nor am I unable to put any force at all due to the pen's size. When you write a lot, your pen or pencil is your friend, so be sure that it makes you comfortable.

Some may call it childish, and it probably is, but given that it already is, what can I do? The pen is my companion whenever nobody is available. We cannot change that easily. I'm pretty sure an item or two is also held dear to you.

Getting Rid of the Office Germs

By Blog Stories at 04/09/2009 00:48
Don't ever think that working in a supposedly clean place like an office will ever exempt you from germ contact, because germs are everywhere. They do not exempt anyone.

Interns at the Office

By Blog Stories at 04/08/2009 01:03
Did you ever have the chance, back in your teen years, to be an intern at some office? Did your immediate supervisor show any form of irritability hanging around with a then-teenager like you? Well, Dave here is most certainly irritated spending an entire day with a high school student intern.

Stylish Binders

By Blog Stories at 04/05/2009 00:05
Who says you cannot go out with your documents in style? You most certainlny can. It's just a matter of looking for the right items to go with yourself.

I believe I have shown you some of our binders here at Office1000, most of which are made up of plastic and are not necessarily stylish. For basic purposes, carrying a plastic binder are already OK for the job. If you want to go out in style, however, you should think again if you would like to bring a plastic container.

Mead Five Star First Gear Zipper Binders from Mead Products, however, is something else. It is made out of nylon, a kind of synthetic polymer, and comes with compartments such as a mesh zipper, loose paper pockets, and a pen/pencil holder. If you will notice, it has a zipper closure and not a lock, which most plastic binders come out with. This makes your binder look less stiffer and less office-ish.

You will also see that the product does not come out in a single color, which plastic binders also typically comes out in. This zipper binder comes in a red-black case, definitely something to bring with you if you want to bring on the hot stuff in the office.

So before purchasing your office equipments and accessories, make sure that they do fit in your desired image. "Office" and "style" are not contradictory terms in the first place.

Saunders SketchBoards allow you to draw in comfort even outdoors

By Vicki at 04/03/2009 21:12
Ever want to take your sketch book along with you to a remote spot so you can draw a landscape or scenic picture?

Problem is, the book cover isn't stiff enough to keep the book in a good drawing position.

Why pay someone to make your business cards for you?

By Vicki at 04/02/2009 08:05
These days, it makes sense to save money in every way we can. That includes the price we pay for our business supplies. Business cards are no exception.

I am sure there are plenty of companies out there who say they will give you a great deal on printing your business cards up, some charging for set up of artwork and some not. I think with a few moments of your time, you can create your own for less.

Shop ticket holders are very versatile

By Vicki at 04/01/2009 14:35
These handy stitched and heavy duty vinyl pockets can be used for so many purposes. They can certainly be used in the traditional way as job ticket jackets.

I also have used my shop ticket holders as learning aids for my kids by printing inserts and then slipping them inside the holders and having the kids write on the outside with a dry erase marker.

Highlighters are important to every day life

By Vicki at 04/01/2009 14:26
Highlighters are a necessary part of every day life. Whether you use a highliter to highlight text in textbooks while you study, or highlight passages in the Bible, or maybe just to highlight key points that you wish to present, a highlighter is a very handy gadget to have around.

Staedtler orange highlighters are my favorite. Orange because it is my favorite highlighting color and Staedtler, because I like the quality of the ink and the comfort of use. These particular highlighters are nice to hold and won't smudge my inkjet printouts.
