In some schools, offices, and government institutions, wearing the ID at all times is a must if you plan to stay there for long. It is a sign that your stay in the premises of the institution is valid and permitted by the site's administration. So how do you wear your IDs?
Personally, I have no issues with wearing ID straps around the neck. Other people may describe it as comparable to a dog wearing a leash around their necks, but that doesn't make a lot of difference to me.
Some others would want to have their IDs pinned to their front pockets, but I do think that this puts the risk of unnoticed falling. I once had this classmate who would do just that, pin the ID to the pocket of his pants. Now in 2 years, he has lost and replaced his ID 4 times already, while I have not lost my ID even once.
But, of course, it is all a matter of taste and caution on the part of the person. If you are like who would like to use a strap, then well and good! But if you do not want to have the whole world see who you are, then buying an ID card reel at the very least is recommended to avoid losses.
