Some items just need to be brought more with the owner than the others.
Two things that anyone who has a busy, cosmopolitan life shoud bring is a pen and a laptop computer. This is quite easy to explain. A pen should be always brought in case of situations wherein the owner need to sign forms. I, myself, have been very learned in this skill, having the need to write things up just to find out that nobody in the room has a pen.
To some, bringing the laptop to computer is not as important as bringing some other things. This is just fine since not everyone's work is computer-related. For IT professionals and some students, however, the laptop computer is a treasure that has to be brought everywhere they go, taking care of it like some child of theirs.
It does not end with notebooks and pens. Depending on the size of the pocket, some other things need to be brought along--especially if you are working inside one of those regular offices, complete with cubicles and coffee makers. In these offices, you will often hear people asking coworkers where their scissors, pens, keys, staplers, and even punchers are. If they cannot find them (of if they just don't have them), they will most certainly ask you if you have anything to lend.
In the quest to have good relationships with your colleagues, every little step counts. If you can always lend those people what they need when they need it, you just might give them a good impression. Now, remember to always bring that pocket hole punch with you.
