Won't you feel proud if you were tasked by your boss to be the head organizer of your office's party? I would, if I were you. That just means that people trust you enough to head such an occassion. Do not be complacent, though. Your actions are bound to eyed, and organizing a corporate party might make or break your career. There are many points to consider and do in order to make your party a hit. - Set a budget. More or less, your boss will tell you how much would you spend, but when he/she doesn't give any price, be sure to make it reasonable enough that it fits the size of your office well.
- Always ask your colleagues for advice. Sure, you have the final say over things, but it's better for your colleagues to know that their opinions matter.
- Choose a theme for your party, as this will determine the equipments you will need. Is it a Christmas party? A Halloween party? What?
- The hard part of organizing any party, of course, is the logistics aspect. Getting equipments, sound systems, freebies, renting a place, etc. If your company is well-off, then hiring a sub-organizer will be welcome. If not, then it's your job to accomplish this grueling task. After all, you can do this, as your superiors trusted you can, right? Or better yet, don't rent equipments from external sources anymore when they you have them in your office anyway! Just make sure to return those folding chairs in their caddy. Hehe.
- Always cheer up and bring about the fun side in you. After all, this is a party and not a corporate meeting. While it is a fact that you need to careful with your actions, putting in fun and creativity to your party will definitely not hurt.
