I hate crating my animals when we are traveling. These dogs are members of the family and never get far away from my side when I am in my home.It is a struggle for me to put them in cages and stick them in the back of the car. Yes, I am one of THOSE people.
My dogs would be much happier in my lap during my trips I am sure. They would be grinning like the big bad wolf ready to have lunch with Little Red Riding Hood if they were just allowed to sit on the front seat and hang their heads out the window.
Ears blowing in the breeze, lips flapping, revealing their pearly white teeth, they would be in dog heaven (and so would I).
I decided, however, that they would actually be much better off in the back, in a crate (of course with a fluffy blanket, toy and dog cage fans running full blast.
Too bad guys, I guess you will have to wait until we get to the hotel to hang out with mom. I rented a room with an extra bed just for you.
If we have to insist that our pets travel in a more secure area in the vehicle, the cooling fans are at least a way to keep them a little cooler. Maybe the lips won't flap as fast, but they will stay nice and cool and will probably be happy in spite of the discomfort of their owners making them sit in the back.
Just for the record, these crate fans are a wonderful item. I have one for my cat carrier, two for the dog crates and even one for my guinea pig cage for extra hot days.
