Everytime I go to another person's place, what do I usually see in the kitchen? The refrigerator. And what do I usually see in front of the fridge? Magnets! Magnets in all colors and sizes! Magnets holding various pieces of paper! Since the fridge is one of those places that people visit inside the house, it's just natural for people to post their notices and their messages there. The refrigerator is any home's bulletin board--well, sort of.Magnetic holders are absent in our fridge. I guess it's because it is not our home's common ground. If there is only person who regularly visits the fridge, that would be me. So putting up notices and messages would only be futile.
Instead, we have our own version of a bulletin board near the bedrooms, though it is only a celebrated slab of cork without any hint of being a bulletin board at all, except for the numerous pieces of paper. There you will see delivery numbers, unpaid bills, schedules (which I do not look at, actually), and other pieces of paper I cannot determine. I am not bothered with our bulletin board being undecorated, but I guess you can still decorate it with some lace, colored papers, and photos if you really want to.
And yet, for others, bulletin boards are non-existent. Bulletin boards, for them, are just a source of distraction and additional trash. Well, can we blame them if they know their tasks so well that they do not need reminders anymore?
How about you? How is your bulletin board, assuming you have one?
