I have been struggling as many others with pain in my wrists and hands for quite a few years. Since I have been typing and writing for many years, I definitely chalk part of it up to arthritis, and part to carpal tunnel syndrome.I have found some office products that definitely help ease the discomfort of the carpal tunnel and the numbing effect is has on my wrists and fingers.
I came across an article that pointed out the benefit of using Pilot's Dr. Grip pens and pencils, when it comes to ease of use for people with arthritis. I love the bigger barrel and the nice grip the Dr. Grip pens have, and it really seems to ease the fatigue or writer's cramp that I get when I am working.
Even the mechanical Dr. Grip pencils are easier on me than regular pencils. Both products just seem to glide over the page and offer little resistance making it easier to write more with less tired hands.
The Arthritis Foundation has actually awarded an Ease-of-Use Commendation for the Dr. Grip pens and pencils for people with arthritis, carpal tunnel and other hand pain issues.
What is the biggest drawback of using a Dr. Grip? Well, everyone wants to borrow it, so I have to keep a store of them in my desk or I never have one to use, since everyone else is using them.
